Harrah's Holds Job Fair

METROPOLIS, Illinois – As reported by the Paducah Sun: "Harrah's Metropolis Casino hopes to fill 45 positions through a job fair Aug. 9 and give those new workers first crack at 125 new hotel jobs opening up in six months.

"…The $70 million, seven-story, 258-room hotel and events center will have front-desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and banquet staff. Hiring is projected to start during the first quarter of 2006 in advance of the hotel's opening a year from now.

"The job fair will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the hotel theater across the street from the casino at 100 E. Front St. Harrah's has immediate openings for four or five slot attendants, 20 food and beverage workers, 10 casino cashiers and four cooks, [human resources director Cheryl Waltmon] said. The remaining needs are in housekeeping and customer service…"
