Harbor Jam at Rivers Casino Schenectady will return next summer

5 September 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady announced today that Harbor Jam, its inaugural summer concert series at the Mohawk Harbor Amphitheater, will be back next summer. The highly touted concert series was a big hit with Capital Region concertgoers and received glowing reviews for its diverse musical lineup and beautiful outdoor setting on Schenectady’s reawakened waterfront.

“We could not be happier with the success of our first summer concert series at Mohawk Harbor," said Rivers Casino & Resort Assistant General Manger Justin Moore. “Working with our partners at the Galesi Group, we set out to bring a free concert experience that would not only be entertaining, but unique to the Capital Region and I think we were successful in reaching those goals.”

The free concert series, which began 23 June and concluded on 11 August, featured national touring acts like Pure Prairie League, Orleans, Lords of 52nd Street (Billy Joel’s former band), California Transit Authority (Featuring Danny Seraphine of Chicago) and the country’s top tribute bands playing the music of Elton John, Eric Clapton, U2 and Steely Dan.

Harbor Jam drew attendances on average of about 3,000 people with guests enjoying music from the comforts of the Mohawk Harbor amphitheater, boats in the marina and the harbor walkway. Concerts were open to the public and attendees were invited to bring chairs and blankets for seating.

Concertgoers were able to go out on a summer Saturday night and enjoy quality music while being treated to a beautiful riverfront setting in a world-class amphitheater. They had easy access to food and beverages provided by Rivers Casino, Druthers Brewing Company and the Schenectady County Community College culinary program among others.

Rivers is already working on next year’s free concert lineup and they are looking forward to announcing their encore presentation of Harbor Jam before the start of next summer.

“Harbor Jam was a huge success and we look forward to bringing a range of well-known bands back to the Mohawk Harbor Amphitheater,” said Moore. “If this year is any indication of what next summer will be like, I can only say that the Capital Region will be provided with another wonderful and unique opportunity to enjoy a summer filled with great musical entertainment.”

This year’s concert series was sponsored by Druthers Brewing Company, Galesi Group, Proctors Theater, Price Chopper/Market 32, B 95.5 and Discover Schenectady.
