Gaming NewsHandle Falls at Pimlico Summer Meet31 August 2004MARYLAND – As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: "The average total daily handle at the recently concluded Pimlico Race Course summer race meet, which ran from July 31 through August 27, declined 10.3% compared with last year's summer meet at Laurel Park with betting on live racing dropping 5.5%, the Maryland Jockey Club reports. "With six fewer live racing dates during this summer meet compared with last year, live handle dropped from $6.2-million in 22 days at Laurel Park last summer to $4.2-million in 16 days of live racing at Pimlico…" |
