Governor's aide to lead OTB

NEW YORK -- With the resignation on Saturday of New York's Off-Track Betting Corp chairman, the governor's top aide has been appointed to the position, The New York Times reported.

In addition to his present duties, Lawrence S. Schwartz will take on OTB duties, the report said.

The position is an unpaid position, The New York Times report noted.

The OTB continues to battle financial calamities, the report noted.
