SARASOTA COUNTY, Florida – As reported by the Florida Herald Tribune: "Six people dyed more than 100 cattle fluorescent purple and pink -- not as some sort of prank, but as the latest marketing campaign for online casino Goldenpalace.com.
"While it might seem an indignity to the cattle, the businessman who sold them as walking billboards said it's better than some alternatives.
"…Animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals agreed, saying that the idea promoted its vegetarian philosophy.
"The cattle would rather be painted than eaten, PETA reasoned.
"…Goldenpalace.com is particularly proud of the purple cows. Taken from author Seth Godin, the 'purple cow' strategy equates the advertising world to a sea of cows where it takes a purple cow to stand out…"
