Gila River Gaming Enterprises appoints two senior hires

21 February 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Gila River Gaming Enterprises, Inc. (GRGE) recently named Sean Douglas Simpson as the new Chief Security Officer and Jessica McKenny as Director of Database Marketing.

In his position as Chief Security Officer, Simpson will oversee all Gila River Hotels & Casinos properties, which include security, safety, fire and risk management. Simpson will also supervise guest claims, general liability and auto insurances.

Simpson has previous experience in the casino security management sector where he previously held the role of Director of Security and Risk Management for Atlantis Casino Resort & Spa in Reno, Nevada. Simpson held this position for 11 years and worked for Atlantis Casino Resort Spa for more than 19 years in other positions, including Risk & Safety Manager and Acting Surveillance Manager. Simpson's other experience in security roles includes working as a police officer for suburban towns in Ohio.

Simpson has an engineering degree from Wright State University and is a graduate of the Ohio Basic Police Academy. Simpson also received the State of Nevada Distinguished Service Medal in 2012 in response to his contributions in the planning and execution of the all force protection measures that supported the Nevada National Guard and the Provost Marshal's Office of two very high profile national events.

In her new role, Jessica McKenny will serve as the Director of Database Marketing for GRGE managing a team of seven database specialists, consisting of a manager, three analysts and three coordinators. She has been with GRGE for five years working as a marketing analyst.

"The database is the lifeline of our organization, and our department is highly efficient at structuring the information to suit the needs of the operation. It is through this information that we are able to communicate with all of our guests on a very personalized level, which makes for the most effective form of casino marketing," she said.

Prior to joining GRGE, McKenny spent 10 years as a Senior Inventory and Forecast Analyst for CVS Health. She has a B.A. in Sociology & Women's Studies and a Masters of Education degree, both from Arizona State University.
