Gambler at Star City casino served 42 beers in one session

AUSTRALIA -- Star City Casino is coming in for criticism after it served a card player 42 beers within a 17 hour period, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

It was only when the card table closed that staff noticed the man was "wildly intoxicated", the report said.

Star City was fined $10,000, three staff members were sacked who served the patron 31 of the 42 beers, but the casino explained staff had a hard time telling that the patron was intoxicated because of his expressionless face during his poker games, the Sunday Telegraph reported.
