14 February 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $34.8 million for the month of January 2017. This figure is down 2.6% compared to $35.7 million in January of 2016. Handle for the month was $454.1 million, up 1.2% from the $448.7 million wagered in the same month in 2016.

Foxwoods' contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in January 2017 is $9.1 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to over $3.9 billion.

Guests at Foxwoods won big money and lavish, complimentary trips in January with Cash Cube Sundays and the Foxwoods to Caesars Vegas Giveaway. The winter excitement continued as the property announced its exclusive new Broadway Series, the first of its kind in the region, featuring multi-show performances of Broadway classics "42nd Street," "Pippin" and "MAMMA MIA!"

The January entertainment lineup sparkled with star turns from "The Empress of Soul" Gladys Knight, as well as hilarious comedians Artie Lange and Bob Marley. Guests also had the opportunity to take in Baseball Winter Weekend with the Red Sox, a star-studded event where Sox legends of past and present treated fans to autograph sessions, insider panels and much more.

February is already off to a winning start as Richard N. of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, won a $250,000 slot jackpot. The property begins this month its 25th Anniversary festivities with a 15 February kickoff party. The party will feature a giant cake cutting, speeches from Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council Chairman Rodney Butler, Foxwoods President and CEO Felix Rappaport and Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut Nancy Wyman. Additionally, over $250,000 in prizes will be up for grabs in exciting giveaways, including a luxurious Foxwoods getaway, Rolex watches and Patriots and Red Sox tickets, as well as the reveal of the Foxwoods Dream Wedding Giveaway winner.

The action-packed 25th Anniversary Week continues with can't-miss, free concerts from pop sensation Kesha and Motown legend Smokey Robinson. The shows will take place at the Grand and Fox Theater, respectively and single tickets will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis. Additional unforgettable entertainment throughout the week includes performances from Rascal Flatts, John Fogerty, Ashanti & Ja Rule and KC and the Sunshine Band.
