Foxwoods Resort Casino opens more amenities ahead of holiday weekend

2 July 2020

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino, the largest resort casino in North America, is pleased to announce that it has once again expanded its resort footprint after initially reopening its doors on 1 June 2020. Following positive feedback and business levels, as well as guest and team member compliance of the resort’s new safety measures, Foxwoods is offering even more for guests to enjoy, just in time for the holiday weekend. The expansion includes the recent reintroduction of Stony Creek Brewery, which opened on 24 June, as well as Rainmaker Casino, Great Cedar Hotel, Atrium Bar and VR experiences, which will open on Friday, 3 July.

New additions to the resort’s reopening plan are already happening and will continue over the next few weeks. Here’s an overview:

Stony Creek Brewery is now open Thursday-Sunday from 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Guests are invited to once again enjoy an array of local craft beer, food-truck inspired bites and the brewery’s signature “aggressively laid-back” atmosphere.

The Rainmaker Casino will be open Friday-Sunday from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m beginning 3 July. The reopening of Rainmaker Casino will allow for an additional 400 slot machines -- allowing weekend guests access to 2,100 slot machines -- and ensure sufficient space for guests and team members to maintain appropriate social distancing during peak times. For the most convenient access, guests may park at the Great Cedar Garage.

Atrium Bar will be open Friday-Sunday from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m starting on 3 July.

The Great Cedar Hotel will reopen on July 3, bringing the resort’s hotel inventory to over 1,000 total rooms.

The XD Dark Ride and Hologate Virtual Reality experiences, located on the Great Cedar Concourse, will be open Friday-Sunday from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m starting on 3 July.

85% of the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods are now open – including Polo Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Coach, Nike, Old Navy and more – with additional stores slated to open over the next few weeks.

Starting 2 July, Foxwoods will offer A Night Out at the Drive-In on the flat lot at the intersection of Route 2 and Foxwoods Blvd. Movies will be shown every Thursday-Sunday throughout July and August, and every Friday-Sunday in September and October. Guests can reserve a spot in advance for $25 per car plus a $15 environmental fee, and refreshments will be available for purchase.

“As part of our commitment to providing an unmatched experience for our guests, we are excited to create new offerings like Night Out at the Drive-In presented by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and bring back more of the experiences guests have come to know and love at Foxwoods,” said Jason Guyot, Foxwoods’ Interim CEO & SVP of Resort Operations. “We are thrilled to welcome our guests back to The Wonder Of It All and encourage them to visit us to explore what we have to offer this holiday weekend.”

As part of the resort’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe environment, Foxwoods implemented new safety protocols and operating procedures in partnership with medical experts. These comprehensive new measures are aimed at mitigating health risks for both guests and employees. All protocols will continue to be reevaluated and updated as necessary.
