Former Empress becomes Hollywood December 22

JOLIET, Illinois -- The opening of the Hollywood Casino Joliet pavilion, the former Empress, has been bought forward to Dec 22, 2010, the Herald-News reported.

A fire shut down the casino in 2009 and the pavilion has been under repair ever since, the report explained.

The renaming came about from Penn National Gaming's Hollywood brand, according to the Herald-News report.

The revamped pavilion includes 1930's art deco style, and two new restaurants, the report added.
