Dubuque Casino Costs Increased

DUBUQUE, Iowa – As reported by the Associated Press: "The cost to expand the Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino has increased six (m) million dollars since it was approved last year because of cost overruns and equipment purchases.

"The Dubuque Racing Association Board has authorized three (m) million dollars in additional borrowing for the project, which is currently under construction.

"…The casino's general manager, Bruce Wentworth, says inflated steel prices and other cost overruns have pushed up construction costs.

"The casino's assistant general manager, Roger Hoeger, says an aggressive equipment purchase program also has added to the cost."
