Donald Trump drops bid to control casinos

18 November 2009

NEW YORK, New York -- Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka have dropped their attempt to regain control of the bankrupt Trump Entertainment Resorts, Bloomberg reports.

The Trumps are dropping litigation against all creditors and plan to release the debtors from claims of more than $100 million, according to Bloomberg. Trump will permit his name to be used on the three Atlantic City casinos he once owned.

Donald Trump once owned 29 percent of the company. He and his daughter resigned from the company's board earlier in the year before it filed for bankruptcy protection.
