Court frees casino of duty to high roller

MELBOURNE, Australia -- Harry Kakavas has lost his attempt to sue Crown Casino, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

The judge ruled the casino did not have a scheme to lure him and that Kakavas was and is a pathological gambler, reported the Sydney Morning Herald.

Kakavas had attempted to sue Crown Casino for $35 million, the report noted.

Justice David Harper asserted casinos "did not have any general duty to protect gamblers from themselves" according to the Sydney Morning Herald report.
