Colorado casino revenue dips

DENVER, Colorado -- As reported by the Denver Business Journal: "Times may be tough, but apparently they're not tough enough to make a man bet his savings account on a game of craps.

"Colorado casino revenues dipped 1.1 percent, in February as compared to the same month in 2008, to $57.3 million from $57.9 million, though state officials said that was because 2008 was a leap year, meaning February was a day longer.

"Revenues in the state's three casino towns also fell 0.5 percent from January, when they totalled $57.5 million, according to a report released Thursday by the Colorado Division of Gaming.

"...Casinos statewide paid $9.4 million in gaming tax proceeds in February, according to the Division of Gaming..."
