On December 15th, Moneymaker plus nine other players will be given $500 cash in a live 2/5 No Limit Hold’em game. The four players with the most hours of live cash game play from 12:00 am Friday, November 11th through Wednesday, December 14th @ 11:59 pm will automatically be awarded a seat in the Moneymaker cash game. The remaining five players will be selected in the following way: All Presque Isle Poker Room players will earn one entry into a drawing for every ten hours of live cash game play from 12:00 am Friday, November 11th through Wednesday, December 14th @ 11:59 pm. Players will earn another entry for every additional ten hours of live play during the qualifying period. (Partial hours will be rounded down.) Chosen participants will play for a maximum of two hours. At the conclusion of the two hours, players will keep the chips they have accumulated. If a player loses all of their money during the two hour period, they are “out” and cannot buy back in.

“We look forward to having Chris Moneymaker back in our poker room,” said Fred Buro, Presque Isle Downs and Casino President. “We believe he is a great ambassador of Poker for us as well as just an all around great guy.”

Moneymaker hosted a tournament during the Poker Rooms Grand Opening celebrations Oct. 14th and 15th.

"It was a pleasure having Chris Moneymaker here in October," said Christine Stacey, Poker Room Manager. “His presence made all the difference during our Grand Opening, and our player’s can’t wait for his return.”

Chris Moneymaker gained his legendary status by turning a $40 online buy in into $2.5 Million. He did this by winning the main event at the 2003 World Series of Poker (WSOP). His victory is said to have revolutionized poker because he was the first person to become a world champion by qualifying at an online poker site. This has been referred to in the press as the "Moneymaker Effect."

Moneymaker's ancestors made silver and gold coins and chose the name "Moneymaker" as a modification of their German last name: "Nurmacher."
