Charles Town Commits to Lobbying Effort

WEST VIRGINIA – As reported by the Bloodhorse.com: "The president of Charles Town Races & Slots is moving to a new position that will give the company a full-time liaison to state and local governments. James Buchanan, president since 1998, has been named senior vice president of government and public affairs.

"John Finamore will assume the presidency while a permanent replacement is sought. Finamore is senior vice president of regional operations for the track's parent company, Penn National Gaming Inc. of Wyomissing, Pa.

"…Gov. Bob Wise's decision to divert racetrack slot revenues away from tourism promotion is an example of why Penn National needs a louder voice, Finamore said Tuesday…"
