Casino neighbors worried about expansion

FLORIDA – As reported by the South Florida Sun Sentinel: "The proposed expansion of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's casino in Coconut Creek has officials of several cities in the area worried about traffic and emergency services.

"Parkland, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs and Margate all border State Road 7 not far from the casino. The cities already suffer from rush hour traffic tie-ups and the proposed expansion, which includes a 24-story, 1,500-room hotel, could make driving on or near State Road 7 even dicier, officials said.

"…If approved, the Seminoles' project would also include an expanded casino, a 2,500-seat concert venue and 150,000 square feet of shops, restaurants and offices in an area bordered by Sample, Wiles and Lyons roads and State Road 7. Preliminary plans also include a nine-story parking garage…"
