Casino internships announced

MEADOW LANDS, Pennsylvania -- As reported by the Observer-Reporter: "The Meadows Racetrack & Casino and Penn State University on Tuesday announced the creation of Pennsylvania's first-ever internship program for college students interested in pursuing careers in the gaming industry. Beginning next summer, the first class of interns will begin working at The Meadows and learning firsthand how a casino operates. "

"...Bert Van Hoof, director of Penn State's School of Hospitality Management, said internships at The Meadows will provide students with a new opportunity to work in one of Pennsylvania's newest and fastest growing industries.

"...The Meadows will expect students to perform their intern duties at least 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks. Students will earn up to three college credits for successful completion of the internship..."
