Casino funding causes Catholics pause

EDMONTON, Alberta -- A directive from the Archbishop for Catholic schools to cease fundraising money through gambling is proving a divisive issue, CBC News reported.

In the current Catholic School Board trustee elections some candidates think the directive is not a realistic one, CBC News said.

Catholic schools currently receive $6 million in fundraising approximately every 18 months, the report noted.
