Casino foes plan prayer rally

GAUTIER, Mississippi -- As reported by the Mississippi Press: "Opponents of a proposed Choctaw casino in Jackson County will seek help from a higher power Sunday when they meet across the street from the site for prayer.

"'Our hearts' desire is to ask the Lord to do whatever is necessary to preclude the Choctaws from building at this site and desecrating this territory with the evil influence of casinos,' wrote the Rev. Carl King, spokesman for Jackson County United for Families, in an e-mail Wednesday announcing the meeting.

"...While the rally is directed against the proposed Choctaw casino, King said JCUF is opposed to any casino project in Jackson County. He said the group fears that if the Choctaws are allowed to build their casino, other casinos will follow..."
