Caribbean Stud Progressive style

19 February 2009

Caribbean Stud is a poker game that is mano-a-mano against the dealer. If you want a potentially lucrative twist on this popular game, head over to VIP Slots and play "Progressive Caribbean Stud Poker."

Caribbean Stud is quite simple to play. The player bets an ante and gets dealt five cards face-up. The dealer is also dealt five cards, but four of them are face-down. The player then gets the choice to bet twice the ante or fold. The dealer's hand must have at least an Ace-King to qualify for a win. If that doesn't happen, and you stay in the hand, you win your bet and double your ante.

If the dealer's hand does qualify and has a higher poker combination then the player's hand, then the player loses both the ante and the bet. If the dealer has a worse hand, than the player wins. If there's a tie, the player gets all his money back.

If the player beats a qualifying hand, he is paid off according to this table:

Royal flush: 1,000:1
Straight flush: 200:1
Four of a kind: 100:1
Full house: 15:1
Flush: 10:1
Straight: 4:1
3 of a kind: 4:1
Two pair: 1:1
Pair: 1:1
High card: 1:1

The potentially lucrative twist is the progressive jackpot that is shown at the top of the screen. If a player is feeling lucky, a $1 progressive bet can be made and pays out the following:

Royal flush: 100% of progressive jackpot
Straight flush: 10% of progressive jackpot
Four of a kind: $500
Full House: $100
Flush: $50

Caribbean Stud is a fun and simple game that can be quite rewarding if you get on a hot streak. And Progressive Caribbean Stud can be very rewarding if you get on a very hot streak. So if you're feeling lucky, head over to VIP Slots and ante up.
