"The order from U.S. District Court Judge Claudia Wilkens is good through Thursday, when a hearing is scheduled to decide whether to keep the Shodakai Casino open permanently, tribal spokesman Claude Everhardt said. "…In the meantime, negotiators for the Coyote Band of Pomo Indians are scheduled to meet Tuesday with a representative for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to discuss terms of a state gaming compact, [manager Don]Trimble said. "…Trimble said the talks on Tuesday will focus on a revenue sharing agreement, the last unsettled issue on the compact. "…The 10-year-old Shodokai Casino, located seven miles north of Ukiah, is the only tribal gambling hall in California operating without a compact, mandatory under federal law…" |
