Gaming NewsCaesars Entertainment Name Change Official6 January 2004ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "Some 15,000 casino employees no longer work for Park Place Entertainment. "They now work for Caesars Entertainment. "Effective today, the city's largest employer has a new name, one designed to emphasize 'one of the better-known brands of any kind around the world,"' a spokesman said. "…The change to Caesars Entertainment is strictly a name change, unlike previous times when the core company also changed ownership structure - from Bally Manufacturing to Bally Entertainment (1994) to Hilton Hotels (1996) to Park Place Entertainment (1998). "…Although the company also owns the Bally's, Flamingo, Grand, Hilton and Paris gaming brands, the Caesars name is at the fore of its development efforts. Proposed casinos in southern California, metro Chicago and Minnesota would carry the Caesars brand, and its biggest expansion plans in Atlantic City and Las Vegas are at the Caesars casinos…" |
