Brandon voters reject casino proposal

BRANDON, Manitoba -- As reported by the Winnipeg Free Press: "The city's plebiscite results show 57.2 per cent of voters -- more than 6,300 -- rejected the casino question.

"'The people in Brandon have spoken,' Gaming Minister Andrew Swan said.

"The results show all 10 wards are opposed to the establishment of a casino within the city, and Mayor Dave Burgess said he wasn't surprised..."
