Atlantis Casino Results Up

RENO, Nevada – As reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal: "The Atlantis Casino Resort & Spa in south Reno cranked up its first-quarter profit despite the winter weather that chilled business the first few months of 2005.

"The company that owns the Atlantis — Monarch Casino and Resort Inc. — reported first-quarter profits rose 39.7 percent from the same quarter last year, meeting estimates from the two analysts who track the company.

"Profit was $3.85 million, or 20 cents per share, compared with $2.76 million, or 15 cents per share. Revenues rose 3.53 percent, to $31.6 million.

"Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, a common approximation of cash flow, rose 6.2 percent, to $8.23 million…"
