Arlington Park Meet Results Mixed

ILLINOIS – As reported by the Business Journal: "The Arlington Park race meet, which ran May 13 through Sept. 18, concluded with a 0.8 percent increase in total handle and a 1.6 percent decrease in total attendance compared with last year's meet.

"…Total handle, or amount wagered, for the 2005 meet was about $405.4 million, up from last year's total of about $402.3 million.

"Total attendance was 715,023, down from the 2004 total of 726,923. Average daily attendance for the 2005 season rose to 7,607 compared with 7,572 in 2004…"
