Alabama senate blocks bingo bills

MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- Two expanded gambling bills that would have restarted electronic bingo casinos have been killed in Alabama, WKRG reports.

Sen. Roger Bedford (D-Russellville) proposed a "constitutional amendment taxing and regulating electronic bingo" WKRG said.

16 senators voted against the bill meaning proponents were three votes short of the required 21 for a full debate, WKRG reported.
