Agua Caliente showcases 8 foot gingerbread house

RANCHO, MIRAGE, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -– Agua Caliente Casino has put the final touches on its annual Gingerbread castle display, heralding a very sweet start to the holiday season.

The public can view this majestic gingerbread castle on the North side of the casino floor until construction is complete at the Grand Palms Buffet, where the castle will then tempt diners through December 27th.

This is the fifth year the casino's Executive Chef Tim Wilcox and his team have built the massive display. The frosting and candy-covered castle took 160 hours to build and stands 8 feet high, 8 feet wide and 4 feet deep, putting to shame the handiwork of moms and grandmothers everywhere!

Gingerbread Castle Ingredients:

-290 pounds of gingerbread dough used to make over 100 sheets of gingerbread squares.

-120 pounds of royal icing

-67 pounds of assorted candies including: Lemon Heads, Boston Baked Beans, Red Hots, JuJuBees, Jelly Beans, M&Ms, Red Vines, spice drops, Gummi Bears, gum drops, Sour Punch Straws, JuJu Fish, candied oranges, Mike and Ike, Life Savers, Tootsie Rolls, Sno-Caps and Necco wafers and more. Gingerbread Castle Construction Team: Executive Chef Tim Wilcox, Pastry Chef Domingo Hic, Bakers Sandra Hernandez and Francisca Palacios, Sub-Structure builder Felipe Hernandez.

Sadly, there's no sneaking a taste and guest must be at least 21 to enter the casino!
