6 July 2016

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Get out your buffing rags and rev your engines, because the "11th Annual Blast to the Past Car & Truck Show" returns to Cherokee Casino & Hotel West Siloam Springs.

The hit car show returns on Aug. 20 and will be hosted by American actor and comedian Adam Ferrara, who will perform later that night at 7 p.m. in the Qualla Ballroom.

The car show features beautiful cars from across the region, with categories comprising of classics built between the years 1900-60, 1961-80 and 1981 to present; customs built between 1900-60, 1961-80 and 1981 to present; the popular Redneck Award; Car Club Attendance Award; and Blast to the Past Car and Truck Show Grand Champion.

During last year's show, Jerry Reynolds, of Rogers, Arkansas, took home the coveted grand champion trophy with his red 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.

"It's always a fun time with a great turnout," said Reynolds. "They give away great prizes, and we appreciate having a good local show where we can run inside and grab lunch to cool off. Blast to the Past is one of our favorites."

Cash prizes and trophies are awarded for first through third places in each category. Participants also receive a free shirt.
Russellville, Arkansas, resident and auto enthusiast Janna Beason won the 1961-1980 classics category with her orbit orange 1970 GTO Judge.

"We enjoy coming up there every year. Everyone is always super nice, organized, and everyone seems to have a great time," said Beason. "We spent the weekend last year. The hotel was great, food excellent, and we even played a few games. We will definitely be back."

Registration and entry into the car show are free. Registration is available at the casino from 8 a.m. through noon on Aug. 20. Participants can also fax registration forms to 918-422-6229. Judging will begin at 10 a.m.

Tickets for Ferrara's comedy show can be purchased online and the casino hotel front desk for $15.
