Aberdeen casino hours extension rejected

ABERDEEN, Scotland -- As reported by the Councillors have blocked a casino's bid for extended opening hours.

"Aberdeen's Gala Casino wanted to open for 21 hours a day but Aberdeen's licensing board voted against the proposal by six to two.

"However, they granted an extension to the bar's opening hours - until 6am.

"The Summer Street casino's manager, Gavin Johnston, said opening at 7am instead of 10am would have given them a chance to compete with bookmakers..."
