Are VP Odds Always the Same?

16 May 2020
Jerry, I met you years ago at a seminar in AC, but my question today concerns video poker. I can't help thinking it's a dumb one, but I'm going to take a shot anyway: I've read and understood many articles by you and others discussing perfect play and the odds of certain outcomes occurring (like a royal) over a given number of trials. ... Software Problems

2 May 2020
Hello Stickman, I have been using Winpoker for ages to practice my video poker. My computer doesn't have an RNG, so how does Winpoker pseudo-RNG select the cards? Ace-Ace-Ace-Kicker Hands in Double-Double Bonus Poker

28 March 2020
Most of the strategy decisions while playing video poker are fairly intuitive. If the dealt hand has a high pair and nothing else, it is obvious that the proper hold is the high pair. Some hands are a bit less obvious, and still others can be real head-scratchers. Jacks or Better and Bonus Poker have only one very high-paying hand – the royal flush. ... (read more)

Ace-High-High Hands in Double-Double Bonus Poker

7 March 2020
[Most video poker players in today’s casinos use a playing strategy that I call the hunch strategy. They examine the cards that are initially dealt and decide which cards to hold and which to discard based on what they feel is the right move. In other words, they play their hunches. The hunch strategy can work well in most cases, such as with a hand containing a high pair and nothing else. ... (read more)
