Keno or Yes?

6 June 2020

Keno is a lottery game invented thousands of years ago in China. It was brought to the United States when the Chinese came to build the railroads in the West in the 1800s. Originally the game had 120 different Chinese’s characters. Later, it was changed to 80 Arabic numbers after the Americans adopted it for their use. Today, it’s a popular game in casinos all over the country.

There are many ways to select Keno numbers: birthdays, so-called “lucky” numbers, or numbers that haven’t shown up in a while. One method to consider is to choose the numbers that have shown up over the last ten games. A player can ask for a printout of the last 10 or 20 games. The Ping-Pong balls used in Keno are supposed to be equal, but after hundreds of games, different things can happen to them.

For instance, some balls might be a little lighter or heavier, even to a fraction of an ounce. A ball might have a pin-point hole or crack or some other flaw. There might be some imperfection in the manufacture that can impact how it moves up and down. The main thing is that some of the balls do develop a bias. Watch for these bias balls and try to win with them.

When playing Keno, you should know that even though Keno runners and writers are employees of the casino, they very much want players to win. If you are having a little trouble trying to figure out a play, such as a special way or some other combination, the Keno runner will be very happy to help. They are always courteous, friendly and helpful, hoping you’ll remember them if you become a big winner later on.

When playing Keno be sure to play numbers less than 11. The odds of catching 11 spots is over 62 million to one. That’s higher than the California lottery. They get higher as you go up in numbers. The odds for catching an 8 spot are 230,00 to one, and they get better as you reduce your numbers. Also remember that many of the casinos is only going to pay a maximum of $25,000 or $50,000, depending on the price of the Keno ticket and what the casinos rate book says. So, stay away for those 11s, 12s and higher numbers, and it’s important to read the casino rate book when playing the game.

• In 1876 the city of Keno, Florida was denied a request from a post office official because of its name, which means gambling, (which was one of the favorite pastimes of the town). • It was Bill Harrah’s casino in Reno, Nevada where the first keno runners were employed.
