LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- A fight between California visitors and workers on the Las Vegas Strip turned deadly Sunday morning, Metro Police said today. Officers were called about 12:01 a.m. Sunday to the Hawaiian Tropic Zone at 3367 Las Vegas Blvd. S., in Planet Hollywood, police said. When police arrived they found that a man had been stabbed and was lying on the sidewalk. Emergency medical crews took him to University Medical Center's trauma unit, where he died, police said. Homicide detectives discovered that a fight had broken out, and after an investigation arrested 20-year-old Desiray Ortiz of La Verne, Calif. Ortiz has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon, police said. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
