Crews top off structure for Northern California Indian Casino being developed by Station Casinos

9 January 2013

Construction crews topped off the structure Tuesday for the $800 million Graton Resort and Casino near Santa Rosa, Calif., which is being developed and managed by Station Casinos, Inc.

The project, which is owned by the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, is expected to open later this year. Ground was broken on the resort last June. The property is located off U.S. Highway 101 and Wilfred Avenue in Rohnert Park, Calif.

Longtime Station Casinos executive Joe Hasson, who oversaw Green Valley Ranch Resort for the company, was named the general manager of the Graton Resort and attended the topping off ceremony.

"It's exciting to have reached this important construction milestone thanks to the hard work and commitment by our construction trade partners and all of their craftsmen and women," Hasson said.

The 320,000 square-foot facility will feature a full gaming, including table games, a poker room, slot machines and video poker. The property will also include several dining and bar-lounge venues.

The final 75-foot-long steel beam, weighing six tons, was hoisted into place by a crane as construction crews and tribal officials looked on.
